
From a peak only 80 minutes from the base of the mountains, a large number of mountains around 3000m can be seen. The sounds of birds
singing, the wind in the grass and the sound of running water can be heard
while walking through the grassy plains. Looking up one can imagine reaching
up and touching the clouds while being surrounded by blue sky that seems
to go on for ever. Such scenery can only be experienced here so why don't
you come, walk and see it for yourself. |

around the surrounds of the mountain. The scenery of the north side of
this course and the Kurumayama Wetlands will leave a strong impression

This course covers all of the Kirigamine area and will leave any explorer
satisfied. Apart from a short section, most of this course is made up of
gentle descents. It is an excellent course to see the Yashima Wetlands
Alpine Plants. |

Clothing |
| The high altitude and low temperature make the area a cool place even in
summer. Long sleeves are necessary all through the year. Protective clothing
and protection from UV rays is also necessary. In Spring and Autumn clothing
to offer protection from rain and fog is also advisable. |
Headwear |
| Headwear is necessary to provide protection from the elements and also
to provide protection from injury. For those who are concerned about the
sun, a large visor is advisabvle. |
Footwear |
| Even if they are not hiking boots, a pair of sneakers that you are used
to wearing is ample. If possible, check that your footwear has strong soles
and has good grip. |
Food and Drink |
| Drinks that contain nutrients and food such as candy and chocolate which
give energy are advisable. |
Emergencies |
| First aid equipment, bandages and gauze bandages should be prepared in
case of injury. Mobile telephones are also useful to call for help in case
of an emergency. Insect repellant is also very useful while hiking. |
Prevention of Sun Burn |
| Sun cream and long sleeves are recommended to prevent sun burn. The sun's
rays are especially strong in Spring and Summer. |
Things to Bring |
| It is advisable to bring plastic bags, gloves, insect repellant and a raincoat. |

| ・Thunderstorms |
| If thunderstorms are in the area, try to shelter in a building. If a building
cannot be found, try to get to lower ground and lie down. Don't shelter
under trees. Thunderstorms are a common occurence so please be careful! |
| ・Trash |
| Your trash is your responsibility. To protect our beautiful natural environment,
please collect your trash and take it home with you. |
| ・Nature Protection |
| Always walk on the paths. Areas outside of the paths are all part of the
national park and therefore are out of bounds to hikers. If people go off
the paths the natural environment will be destroyed. It is illegal to break
plants or take them home. Please follow these rules to protect our environment! |
